Villa La Torre: extension of a preexisting tower with new pure volumes in between modernity and tradition.
The project aims to reuse the stone tower in a new unifamilar house, which is developed around the pre-existence in a sequence of open and private spaces, required to guarantee all type of comfort to the guests.
The square-shaped tower is divided in two levels but not communicating. Its masonry is made of roughly hewn stone, which represent the only material besides the terracotta tiles used for the ground floor pavements.
The new architecture respects the old structure and begins from the materical evidences of an external veranda, whose remain only the entrance doorjambs.
