Escher Illustration studies
Another assignment to introduce us to the world of Escher. the task was to follow a few certain steps to creating a tiled pattern at first
after a few attempts i settled on this one. we were to then create details on the pattern that we decided. this one in particular stood out to me because it reminded me of an angel praying
so i rounded off the corners and fixed the placements and overall cleaned it up a bit to make the detailing a little easier
i roughly placed some colors and created an angel and a devil. i ended up not liking this idea as much so i changed it up a bit
instead of putting in the colours first i worked on the illustration in only black and white. this really helped clear up the narrative and allowed me to focus more on the detail first.
after that i put in some color and this was the final image.

am i 100% satisfied with this? no. it definitely could be improved if i work on it a bit more but for now here it is
