One of my first attempts at photo realism with an unexplored medium. Part of a small one a day series from my undergrad and one of my best examples of using Acrylic paints as water color.

Layers of color are slowly built with light washes of the lightest value. Color is slowly added going back and forth between adding dark shadows of color while also using thin washes of yellow across the head of the frog to even small blots of white for highlights.
