'The Roots' was developed during a month long art residency in Gunehar, Himachal Pradesh, @the4tablesproject. I was invited among 12 artists from all over India in May'2019.

The Roots and The Other Side are results of investigation around sustainable fashion in today's context in rural and urban India. Study took place while reaching out to locals, looking into their daily lives, old archival images and local fabric and tailors shops. Culminated into two large art installations.

Title: The Roots
Materials:
Various objects created using tailors cutting waste
Growing Wheat grass
old hand-spinning wooden tools (Charkha)
Photo Documentation of current fashion as well as curation from archival photos
Size: Various sizes for different objects

The Roots and The Other Side #textileartinstallations are now part of Gunehar Art Gallery
