Exhibited at NO END Contemporary Art Space in June of 2017, Fantasma is an obscure, endearing body of work developed several months prior after I had begun experimenting with screen printing and was immediately taken with the technique.

My initial approach saw no particular concept; the illustrations and accompanying titles started off as mere ponderable musings put to paper—the work came to define itself as I continued to expand on the material and thematic devices. I eventually decided on the title "Fantasma" because of the broader spectral, and in some of the pieces, ectoplasmic nature of the collection.

The juxtaposed navy blue and ultra pink backgrounds were individually hand-pulled, making each piece wholly unique from the next. The assemblage is comprised of 11 illustrations, each with 2 editions.

Remaining pieces from the exhibition later saw their way to the KwaZulu-Natal Society of Arts and Turbine Art Fair toward the end of 2017.
