Metropolis
Groovy, Jazzy flava...
Metropolis was formed in 2003 as a cover band that was tired of 'bread and circuses'. I.e. playing the same old Back to the Someties over and over again. Soon they discovered that they shared a common passion for what had been touted as Acid Jazz. A pleasant mix of groove, funk and jazz.

After several changes in the line-up the band's passion for groove hadn't dissipated. On the contrary, the band had attracted a couple of musicians that both shared a passion for groove and jazz, as well as a band history. Each person's musical preferences, skills and characteristics contributed greatly to what has come to pass as Metropojazz. Each cover would be subjected to the band's overhaul to produce a song with a distinctive sound.

After more than six years of playing covers, the band decided to veer into another avenue of musical exploration: writing their own songs. This could not have been a better turn for the band. Finally unleashed, their creativity has propelled the band to even greater heights. The passion and sheer fun that the band is experiencing is "too much for mere mortals", or so it seems.

In 2011 the band will present their first batch of songs to the public.

Until then, the public will have to suffice with a demo of cover songs from previous performances. Enjoy...
