The energy drink in the advert is tea based and is aimed to people who want the monster flavour rather than the energy aspect of the drink. The advert needed to convey a calm layed back feel which is the opposite of what monster advertises. For this a cute pug was used. these dogs are seen as cute and lazy. in the ad it reperesents the Beast that monster talks about.
