This project goal was to do design and print a trifold brochure for a local venue. I did the brochure for the Bo Diddley Plaza located in Downtown Gainesville, Florida. My target audience is drawn to young adults who are looking for some spaces where they can hang out with some friends or spend some quality time inside the city. They love to exercise and be in outdoor spaces.
The plaza offers an open schedule filled with different activities such as yoga, farmers and vintage markets, among other which could be beneficial and have a positive impact in these young adults. Overall, Gainesville does have some recognized open spaces but the minimalist style and design that was be used for these trifold, will also encourage the students to actively participate and be involved in the community.
The Bo Diddley Plaza logo made me thought about the subway maps lines. I decided to based my general style and vibe on a New York city map. The main purpose of the trifold is to guide people through the different activities that are developed in the plaza as well as places and restaurants. Each part of the plaza is represented as a "station" so people can follow the lines and have a better idea of the plaza.
Because I was going for that N.Y subway style, I decided to make some of my titles and important information as an actual sign of the subway. I also developed these minimalistic icons for reference about some activities or places inside the BD Plaza.
All illustrations and shapes were done by me during the design process.
