‘Scripts in Harmony’ is a typography-led experiment towards uniting communities. Many languages spoken in today’s world have a strong historical background to it, the major influence being an ancient language that was widely acknowledged as the primary means of communication in that region. Apart from a base language, their geographical location and neighbouring communities also play an equally important role in creating a mutual influence with each other’s language, culture, etc. 

However, the scripts in which these languages are written in, may or may not have had an influence on each other. Historically, people from different communities wanted to communicate with each other in order to develop relations and trade. At the same time, they wanted their culture to be the dominating one, where, one of the major factors contributing to this, was the usage of the script. Hence, even to this date, the scripts remain distinguishable from each other. However, this is not true for every ethical group. Due to the spread of religion and colonisation, many countries in the Southeast Asian archipelago have witnessed a shift in their usage of the script from their traditional one to Arabic to Latin script. 

This project emphasises the above-mentioned patterns for the language pairs used. The words used in each design mean the same in both the languages and sound similar as well. The difference comes in the way of writing it in different scripts. Therefore, this typographical experiment is done by fusing both the scripts in such a way that it can be read and understood by the people who can read and understand both the scripts or any of the individual scripts.
