On November 15, Johnson won the Masters Tournament by five strokes with a record 20 under par total of 268, two strokes better than the previous record jointly held by Tiger Woods (in 1997) and
Jordan Spieth (in 2015).
It was his second major championship victory and first in The Masters. It was also his 24th official win on the PGA Tour, and extended his streak of winning at least one tournament every season to 14.
