Aedan Roberts's profile

Old Works: Robots

I'm eventually planning on revisiting this avenue. Because I absolutely love robots. But instead of painting them to develop as mascots (which was my original intention) I want to take the creatures I've already created and come up with a proper narrative to truly have fun with them.
Wonder
This was originally one of my two mascots. A towering, ancient titan whose massive turbine engine on his back produced cumulus clouds. When angered, however, it would turn to hurricanes.
The giant robot was a gentle, curious creature. He roamed the earth exploring its many wonders. It was such delicacy that allowed something the size of a mountain the capacity to interact with lesser, far more fragile beings. In this image it he has happened accross a small village. Bent over to examine it's tiny frames he spots a young boy (the only one brave enough to face the giant.) The exact moment portrayed is when the boy and the titan "high five".
Detail of their meeting.
Tinker In Troubleland
This little guy was my other mascot. No taller than three feet he and his numerous brethren produced altocumulus clouds (smaller puffy clouds). Depending on mood they could produce various shapes- from butterflies to battle scenes.
Ancient Curiosity
An older iteration of the robot from 'Wonder' meeting Tinker. As you can see, he originally lacked a neck and was MUCH smaller (not really much larger than a human- only 20-25 feet tall versus the mountainous size he eventually became).
Sketchwork for robot concepts
This allows you to see other angles of the big guy. and various versions of the little one.
Back when I first created my "Robot Clouds" online presence (before I decided to go more direct) I initially wanted to make a viking robot that rode atop a cloud. Far more literal and silly. These were some VERY preliminary sketches that I did before nixing the idea for something actually good.
