Again
an illustration project

This project consisted in the creation of an illustrated book.

The source of inspiration for the sequence of illustrations, shown below, was related to Error and the potential "beauteousness" and positivism it can bring to us or be perceived as by us. For that, the idea was to represent a person that after committing an "error", in this case stepping into a puddle, starts falling (usually an action perceived as a bad thing) through wonderful landscapes. My passion for landscape views also had influence in the aesthetics of the illustrations.

The book is a fold-able with around 150 centimetres long if opened totally. It was build this way to emphasize the fall of the character through the various environments. Also, it's an interesting piece to be displayed totally opened as a decoration.

Process
First, I drew in paper the landscapes inspired in real and fantastical places. And also did the same with the character and its different positions.

Then I got a digital version of the drawings and in Adobe Illustrator I created a vector image of them, getting a refined aspect of the lines.

Finally, I imported the images (landscapes and character) to Adobe Photoshop and painted till the final result.

Next is shown a bit of the process stages and the final result (missing images from the final product, in book format).
