I was tasked to create a series of hang tag and label for the best seller Baju Melayu series for Pasaraya KU. Although it is just a piece of card board dangling on the clothes, it behoves me to create something extraordinary for my employer. The series include Cekak Musang, Leher Johor, Kurta, Jubah.
As opposed to the usual straight cut hang tag, I devised a unique opening. It opens to reveal a model wearing the specified clothes and had a cursive logo on the left juxtaposed with a sans serif title on the right. I used marble floor patterns for the hang tag's background.
This design is a straight forward option. It opens up to show the model with the garment with overlay vector elements and professional-esque type.
The unique opening was removed but I devised an irregular shape for the hang tag design and added a transparent oil paper companion for the brand logo. The marble background remained.
This option remains straight forward but the space for the model was turned into a separate piece.
With the clothing finalised, the model shooting took place and I replaced the vector drawings for a real model. The colours are changed according to the clothing.
At the end, the boss decided to order another logo but everything else remained.
