Each country was assigned a color, which was then used as a colored border on the relating country’s chapter. This makes it easy to flip through the book and quickly find the section you need. In addition, those colors were used to create the custom holo foil.

The type itself is set in Sabon LT Pro due to it's combination of rounded features and sharp serifs. Agency FB was used for the headers, while Frieda was used for the titles.

I created an icon for each of the countries based on the details provided in the world primer. Those icons became enamel pins, which I then colored in monotone schemes based on the color the country was assigned in the book. The following icons are for the countries of Arelle, Corrine, Khor, Leontari, Loryl, and Zantea - in that order.

Arelle is an island nation known for it’s fishing trade and a complex religion revolving around three Goddesses. Corrine is a large city of commerce where gold is King. Khor is a mountainous country in the freezing northern waters that are home to the world’s only whales. Leontari is known for lions they kept at the royal palace, as well as for their elite guards known as Liohearts (which is where the book gets its name). Loryl is an agricultural country known for making the prettiest fl owers and deadliest poisons. Zantea is a country that consists of four smaller states that each have their own subculture and specialty. I included each country’s essence in their icon while retaining a unifying style.
