I consider this to be a personal project, however inspired by the brief for an actual contest.
Bokeštine! '13 was a typographical and graphic design contest held as the part of Sinestezija art festival in Herceg Novi [Montenegro].
Bokeštine are the typical words, some even archaic, which are distinctive specifically for this coastal area and the dialect of the people inhabiting the Montenegrian coast. The brief offered a list of speciffic words and expressions that contestants could choose from and translate typographically and graphically.
The contest was designed to reevoke the traditional and original spirit of the coastal culture and in an artistic way keep the original language living on.
