Andrea Piroli's profile

ESI spa - Rebranding

The Background
The company, formerly named "Workystem", is active in the renewable energy industry since 2018, with the purpose of engineering and building energy plants, giving access to energy to people regardless of engeneering issues and the difficulties that come in reaching cities  with poor infrastructures.
The company changed their naming and logo before the branding project could start. Even though confining in terms of design possibilities that could be explored, the naming "Energy System Integrator" and the color palette still offered some potential to be exploited.
Green and gray suggested a link to the renewable energy and to the idea of a modern, technological and effective approach to complex engineering problems.
The shape of the logo in itself, the composition of its elements, and the font choice, on the other hand, don't feel capable of expressing the technological, and the human value proposition of the brand.
The branding project had therefore the potential to convey attention to a visual language that could compensate such a missed opportunity.
The Project
The Company's website feels technical, clean, solid. It's meant for investors to get to know the company and for clients to judge the Company's credibility.
This made for the choice of a crisp, simple, geometric layout and for the will to structure a hierarchy that could make it extremely easy to get the most relevant informations about the company at a glance.
Branded Material helped heading towards the right direction, making the Company starting to express itself like the brand it is: one capable of conveying a strong competence in the engineering processes, and a B2B feel, while suggesting a people-first approach.
The rounded shape of the logo still appears in the letterhead, and in the Notebook pages, its dynamism translated into that of gradients and double exposures.
