To document a scarcity phenomenon and a tribute to tissue paper.
Given that the variety of printing paper is becoming increasingly exclusive and expensive in general, the hoarding of toilet paper has resulted in empty shelves during the COVID-19 pandemic is another chapter. Toilet paper has become a precious material and the same for tissue paper as an even more luxurious expensive alternative. The average consumer uses approximately 2000 meters of these rare and valuable papers per year.

Throughout history, artists are known for enriching works of art by using precious materials used to shine, to take advantage of the inherent commercial value and aesthetic qualities.

I felt like working with these materials and chose a brush and ink for mark making on precious tissue paper originally used for cheap troubleshooting tasks. The blotting results of the flush and blush brushwork on the soft but strong four-ply paper are bundled and bound between covers are presented as a book.
Thank you for watching till the end...
