Illustration of one of Ireland’s most beloved deities: Brigid, a versatile goddess associated with fertility, inspiration and hearth among many other things. I wanted to emphasize Brigid in her role as a fire deity, holding the flame of inspiration and creativity as well as one of her most prominent symbols, the Brigid’s cross, which is usually crafted at her holiday on Imbolc.
I choose a Brigid’s knot symbol and a sun for the background because she is also associated with the sun and the moon as well as with nature herself. You can turn to her for matters of healing, home, fertility and protection among many other things.
