Metaphysical Landscape

Orașele goale sunt imaginea vizuală reprezentativă a pandemiei. Peisajul văzut în absența oamenilor oferă un sentiment ciudat, extraterestru și lipsit de viață, deși este plin de lumini puternice și umbre profunde, care creează dinamică. Într-un fel, orașul pandemic este un spațiu metafizic și amintește de picturile lui de Chirico, în care timpul pare că stă în loc și că așteaptă un moment epic, ce nu vine niciodată.
Am vrut să surprind acest sentiment ciudat, însă fiind prinsă între patru pereți și neputând să mă deplasez, am apelat la arhiva mea de fotografii pentru a crea reinterpretări ale peisajului pandemic. Folosind fotografii de arhitectură și semne de stradă care atenționează „Nu Parcați”, am creat o compoziție metafizică, în care atmosfera grea este dublată de existența elementelor sculpturale, ce amintesc de prezența oamenilor.

Empty cities are a representative visual image of the pandemic. The landscape seen in the absence of people has a strange, otherworldly and lifeless feeling, though it is full of light and deep shadows, that create dynamics. In a way, the pandemic city is a metaphysical space and reminds of de Chirico's paintings, in which time seems to stay still and wait for an epic moment that never comes.
I wanted to capture this, to bring this peculiar feeling in my work, but since I was trapped inside, I worked with my archive to create reinterpretations of the pandemic landscape. Using photographs of architecture and of 'No-Parking' signs. I created a metaphysical landscape in which the deep atmosphere is doubled by the existence of sculptural elements, evocative of human presence.
