'Every soul has an inept cartographer inside it. It uses logic, intuition and past experiences... you name it for the accuracy of the map. But the randomness of the universe knows no bound. Centuries of advancement and yet the real road is the unknown. Gallop towards the Oasis just to find it was a mere mirage! So which one is real? The one in the harem or the one in the middle of nowhere? The one in the unknown woods?
Dear cartographer and dear fate, do your paths converge at the same destination?'

This was my attempt at capturing Salvador Dali's surrealism through the lens of 16th century Mughal miniature painting and as always, the piece is full of catharsis!

Title: 'امکان پذیری' ( possibility)
Medium: mixed media on wasli
'And so he marched into a foreign land relying on nothing but the inept cartographer within him. From Samarkand to the promised land of Delhi! And who was he but a prisoner of his own thoughts and temptations? Wasn't ambition just another name for that? After all, who dances in the unknown woods in a desert but a peacock with hypnotizing feathers? There he was resisting fate with his cartography but yet lost in the middle of nowhere.
It is during this time of despair that fate finally decided to show him a glimpse. A glimpse of what it had in store before his lust overtook. He hurries back in the howdah on his newly acquired elephant marching back in a land that's no longer too foreign. But whether he would make it or not is a question we shall not answer today my friend.
Dear cartographer and dear fate, do your paths converge at the same destination?'
