— Grand Challenges Annual Meeting (2020)
Background
Every year the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation organizes the Grand Challenges Annual Meeting, an event that brings together researchers from around the world to present their research.
Our role as a BMGF partner is to support the Grand Challenges Explorations in Data Science Brazil grant receivers, which were encouraged to submit their posters for the annual meeting held online this year.
Process
A poster is more than just a description of a project. It is a small window into the world of what 24 months of research in big data can represent. So designing a poster is more than just creating its layout, our task also includes storytelling and data visualization. What does this research tells? Who is it for? How can we illustrate that in the simplest and most incredible way?
With these questions on our mind, we were able to work in a collaborative way with the researchers, living up to their amazing work.
Results
At the end, we delivered 7 digital posters, each one with its own identity, several visualizations and extra materials for presentations.
This is the result of months of understanding, listening, questioning and creating with our amazing Brazilian researchers, which we have the utmost respect for.
