In the summer of 2020 I explored the idea of how absurd it is for humans to believe that they can control the world around them. Using the candle as a metaphor for control I wanted to show how absurd it is for humans to believe that they are the ones in control. Candles are in precarious situations where one incorrect movement would cause the entire structure to collapse.

Like all of my sculptural work these objects are not held together by anything but pressure tension and gravity. So literally one false move will make them come crashing to the ground.
