(2014) RISD Japanese Aesthetics Class

"Precious things" is a series of pattern designs / wrapping papers to be used in mundane everyday contexts. I originally used these to package a plain, grey stone as a gift. The stone became more precious and meaningful through its presentation, and intended to question what we assign value to arbitrarily.

The papers read, bronze, silver, gold, jade, pearls.
