UX: iPhone Keyboard Design

I have found often when typing on mobile device I use @, underscore, and .com incredibly often. Factoring in social media and @’s usage increases as does the #.  Currently to access these keys I need to leave the keyboard I am on, access another one, and search the layout for where these keys are placed.   Then once the key is selected I must go back to the original ABC keyboard I was on.

In original layouts these keys were given a lower heirarchy, most likely extending from the desktop days when Qwerty was king.

But as our needs change, so does design.
The iPhone 5’s extended screen size allows for more real estate to be occupied by the keyboard with out covering additional icons and information.

In my design I have brought @ and .com to the forefront and given it the same value as letters.   Just below are / . # _  In my opinion their use is not as often but still relevent to no longer hide them in another menu.  I think these keys are used as much if not more than letters in our modern digital lexicon and there is no reason for them to be present sometimes or to hide them from the user.
