Illustrations for the collection of poems by Yuri Gorsky "Palanga polyptych"
2019. Digital graphic. 15 x 21 cm.
Illustrations to the poems of a journalist forced, due to political convictions, to live in Lithuania, in Palanga. In the verses, one can feel the loneliness of a person who is not used to the status of an emigrant. The motive of running along someone else's coast, along the dunes, where the interlocutors are seagulls, where you feel someone's gaze through the target, is repeated, hence the motifs of sand and snow, rain and waves, the light of the moon and shadows, the figure of a person and his forced environment in the drawings.

The drawings are conditional, the compositions are abstract - to convey the metaphorical nature of the poetic texts. Integrity is achieved through the varied use of a closed set of elements in different scales and combinations. Color limiting conveys anxiety, anguish, which can be seen in landscapes snatched out by the headlights of a car.
