In early 2018, Williams-Sonoma was looking for an illustration style to complement it's existing illustrations on their Sunday Braising Sauce labels. They chose Douglas Schneider to do an illustration for it's Chicken Piccata Sauce packaging.
With the success of the lemon illustration, they asked Doug to paint illustrations for their new Instant Pot products, and he has now painted over 40 watercolor, packaging illustrations for their Instant Pot Starter Kits. Shown here are illustrations that emphasize prepared foods.
The illustrations are watercolor and colored pencil paintings that were meant to be printed small. They were painted smaller than usual so he could concentrate on good value contrast, and wouldn't get caught up with too much detail that would be lost anyway.
