Perspectives on a Global Pandemic

While studying abroad in Milan, Italy, in the Spring of 2020, I was forced to return due the sudden onset of COVID-19. Within the span of two weeks, I went from Milan to Munich to Pennsylvania. My world exponentially decreased in size, causing my stress to transform into fear, which surreptitiously exploded into a self-imposed emotional and social isolation.

The illustrations above are an exploration into what we do with the time and resources we have. Hope and sorrow are equally within our grasp. It is the choice we make between the two that makes the difference.
One Angry Man

As part of my Layout & Visualization Techniques class at Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, I was tasked with creating a portrait for Kim Jong-un. This week-long assignment was an exercise in creating illustrative works that exemplify an individual or subject matter that might easily fit within an online or physical publication.

To encapsulate the character and man of Kim Jong-un, I felt that only one color and one expression would define him. I wanted to capture the power of dictatorship, combining several photos of Kim Jong-un to truly showcase the appearance of a man who rules, imprisons, and kills with an iron fist.
