We are very proud to present this poster for the Fiesta Mayor of 2020 in Barcelona. This celebration pays homage to the patron saint of the city since 1687, when people commended themselves to the Virgin of La Mercè to relieve themselves of a locust plague. With the passage of time citizens have turned that misfortune into a meeting point and a festivity. The Mercè we have created is a girl that understands her environment and respects it. She shows us Nature to bring arts, sports and tradition closer.
In order to present each section of the festivity we decided to represent the biodiversity of Barcelona. These animals and many others reappeared in our city during the three-month-long confinement. So the swallow, the sparrow and the swift present this year’s musical events. The hoopoe and the salamander announce stage arts, and the squirrel sports. This will certainly be a celebration different than the ones before, but in any case we want to remember it with a smile.
