For an assignment based a hypothetical AIGA conference centered on the topic of offensive images, I designed a poster to address the issue of abortion.
Through my research of various organizations both pro-choice and pro-life, I decided to take a different and radical approach against pro-life supporters. Within many of these organizations against abortion, I found strong religious ideals that appear contradictory to actual religious practices and a continuous emphasis on the ideas of "natural" and "life". I focused on these issues as the primary content for the poster.
With the help of friends, I set up a photoshoot and concocted fake male semen (cornstarch and yogurt) to give the image the realistic appearance needed. I chose the typeface Letter Gothic to go with the imagery as it gave the serious, clinical and satirical tone the poster called for.
