The NYU Music Business Program

In addition to his accomplishments as a Brooklyn restaurateur, Jelani (Lani) Wray has found success as a music production manager, formerly with Free Form Productions and currently with Humble King Records. Jelani Wray has shared his music business expertise as an industry event speaker and panelist as well as a guest lecturer at both Lincoln University and New York University (NYU).

NYU students can get a concentrated education in music business leadership and entrepreneurship by obtaining a bachelor of music (BM) in music business or a master of arts (MA) in music business. In conjunction with the NYU Stern School of Business, the BM and MA programs stress the importance of studying under industry leaders. NYU offers both of these programs through its Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development.

To obtain a BM, NYU students must attend school full-time and accrue 128 credits. The MA program offers both full-time and part-time tracks to a final credit goal of 42 to 45.
