UFC is birthed from the personal experience of Glen Meyer, an ex-convict who built a life for himself after prison and seeks to offer that opportunity to others. Glen understands what it was like to be a vulnerable youth in the correctional system and having to overcome limiting self beliefs. He found freedom through learning and practicing forgiveness, reconciliation and overcoming failure through the physical act of growing food as a lesson in life.
The branding of Urban Farming Cooperative focusses on the redemption of life after prison, rather than continuing to bring back the past. The arrows pointing downward are symbolic of finding rebirth in the soil by planting dreams and hopes, and then cultivating them to reap new life.
