I created this piece in 2017 for the Adelaide Hills Art Prize held at the Lobethal Arts and Heritage Hub in the Adelaide Hills. This was my Artist Statement:

'The most exciting time to be alive in the Adelaide Hills is the start of spring. Those first days of warmth spread optimism across all of the living inhabitants. The landscape becomes overwhelmed by a blanket of yellow acacia blossom, sweet odour ignites the senses and one day dreams of summer dresses and sandals. In my piece I want to capture that excitement with a happy galah surrounded by acacia blossom. The bright colours of the sunrise represent joy and excitement for the new season. '
