This is a poster project that was given to me and my fellow classmates in a graphic design course at North Central College. The brief for this project was to create a poster that emphasizes a illness or disability that you feel passionate about.

According to the World Health Organization, depression is a common illness worldwide, with more than 264 million people affected. Depression is one of the scariest illness because it's invisible and at its worst, depression can lead to suicide and close to 800,000 people die due to suicide every year.

I created this poster on Photoshop and blended two photos with a color contrast to portray what we show to the world and how depression makes us feel inside. I wanted to highlight a woman because statistics show women have a higher rate of depression though depression is a difficult illness no matter who you are.

I didn't want the text to overwhelm the visual aspect of this project so I tried to have it mirror the idea of invisibility and force the viewer to stay with the piece a little longer to understand the idea behind it.
