THE PROJECT

This was my third attempt to design a book cover based on hand-drawn illustration. As someone who usually does vector artworks, I have always been inspired by hand-drawn book cover and wish to experiment with hand-drawing technique. The title I chose this time is Hannibal by Thomas Harris since it was a very dark thriller, and I intend to approach it in a more minimal, sophisticated and delicate way.

OUTCOME

The illustration for Hannibal is a stag skull which in the story, symbolizes for Evil (also Hannibal's personality). For this book cover, I was kinda leaning towards the minimal approach which explains the simplicity behind the cover.
