If anything, SARS-CoV-2 is teaching us how delicate the balance is between the habitats of people, animals, and nature in general.
Therefore, a greater awareness of SARS-CoV-2’s role in the human body might excite our appreciation for the relevance of a One Health approach, whereby animal health, human health, and our natural environment are all taken into account to address global health issues.
To that effect, my new article "What Does SARS-CoV-2 Do to Our Body?" summarizes what science is currently telling us about the role of SARS-CoV-2 in our heart, brain, kidneys, gastrointestinal tract, and liver.
