Roland Film & Roland Live – Branding

Roland Film & Roland Live

A project of a logo and elements that shape the filmmaker Roland Dubiel's visual identity. He set a goal for us of creating a simple and unobtrusive image of the brand.

Roland Dubiel worked for many years for TVP as a production producer, but at the same time he developed his personal space of film art by creating documents, etudes and other cinematographic forms. A skillful balancing between technical production and an artistic approach became the essence of this project. Both spaces needed to stay in harmony.

We accomplished the challenge already at the logo designing stage. Basing on the brand's initials, we designed an intuitive reference to the trade - a film frame. However, the key value that builds the distinctiveness is the asymmetric structure of the sign. It significantly influences a certain artistic approach and “breaking the patterns”.

Newly designed logo turned out to be so characteristic that we decided to create a very frugal and simple key visual of the brand basing on the noble navy-blue colour and very simple geometric composition.

This design decision is significantly supported by aesthetic film frames from Roland's productions. They give the materials an extraordinary aura, perfectly fitting in and creating a coherent main theme.

With the development of the company, the decision was made to create a sub-brand called "Roland Live". Live video broadcasting activities needed to be differentiated while remaining consistent with the main visual identity. The HD / 4K broadcast van has been designed for this purpose.
