Robert Farmer - Poster Commission
After posting my previous sports graphics on social media, I was approached by Lucy Farmer, wife of Robert Farmer, an ice hockey player who played for the Nottingham Panthers for several seasons and had recently left the club to go and play in Germany. I was told that Nottingham was a very special part of their lives and they wanted something to remember it by, so Lucy commissioned me to create a poster for them to frame and hang in their new house.
I began by asking if there were any particular photos that she wanted including in the graphic, I knew that they has a young son who was a huge hockey fan and so I thought it may be a good idea to include a picture of their son and his father together as well. Lucy loved this idea and provided me with the photo in which I worked the graphic around. I chose to create a "memory lane" graphic and used the photo given to me to suggest Robert Farmer and his son were about to embark on a walk through Robert's career as a Panther together. The graphic was a huge success and now proudly hangs on the wall of the family house.
