2-LA Design made this chunky sneaker sole design years ago with tons of other sneaker concepts for ANTA eCommerce, it starts with pretty radical sketches to expressing over exaggerated proportion for chunky sneaker

As an industrial design team, we always like to glue function and form together, in this project we try to make comfort not only can be sensed  by feet but also by eyes, we took inspiration from all elements with "visual comfort" , bubble, air, balloon... and when we sketch them together, we started to having something interesting like below:

we also want to bring Qi (internal energy) concept into it, make something flow between each bubble forms:

Final execution on sole is very close to original sketch, even the crazy form still follows principle of manufacturing:
