This project was created to help focus on the qualities and characteristics of six different typefaces from six different classifications. The goal was to choose a letter that represented the specific font and classification and then rotate or scale the letter to create an interesting composition.
chancery, calligraphic: sloped letters, exaggerated form, curved ascender
baskerville, traditional: sharp straight lines, thin tails, uniform
snell roundhand, script: resembles what a brush or pen would create, high contrast in line weight
futura, sans serif: opposite of serif, smooth ends, perfect circle curves
rockwell, slab serif: thick block-like serifs, same width for all strokes
bodoni, modern: high contrast between serifs and straight lines, unique serifs
