The processing and layout of the personal data, accompanied by Carson’s own pictograms and photographs, must represent a cross-section of the latter’s work, however reworked in a personal key.
For this project I was inspired by David Carson, an American designer who reached fame in the nineties riding the “grunge typography” wave with the music magazine Ray Gun, which he directed from 1992 to 1995.
The notoriety was given to him by the revolutionary ability to dissolve, tear and reshape images and writings. His aesthetic, so different, was immediately recognized in line with what “grunge” represented on a social, political, cultural and musical level.
