The brief
In this project, what we had to was to select one out of four briefs to work with for a competition held by The Institute of Packaging, this project will be entered at the Annual Student Gold Pack Awards for 2020. The brief that I picked was the Gog’s Gift to you, the brief wanted me to design a package that a grandmother would want to give to their grandchildren as a gift, the gift pack should contain a Deodorant, Lotion, Shampoo and a Sponge or Loofah. Note that I could use an existing brand or create one, additional items may be added and the mock up needs to contain the actual contents.
Package design process
Above is the initial illustration that I created to get an idea of what I was creating.
The colour palette
The colours used were chosen because they stand out the most whilst still giving a minimalist feel which would most likely appeal to the younger generation, The colours create enough contrast which makes it easier for the older generation to read.
The Typeface
The chosen typeface is Garamond, the reason for this is that, the Garamond typeface is one of the most gender neutral typefaces and it is one of the most readable and legible, making it the perfect typeface.
Product shelving
The total length of the product is 39cm and the width is 60cm, so when the product is placed on shelve, it needs to stand upright making sure that the package is the right way up, markings will be placed below to let you know which way is up. The package cannot sit on top of itself, so another shelf will need to be placed to support the next row.

About the brand

The products produced by the Bod brand are 100% recyclable and sustainable, as we want to consistently improve on the impact of our environment and encourage others to do so. We all know that baby boomers know nothing about what millennials want, so we aim to provide the perfect gift packs to give to them and show your love at a reasonable price.
