OFF TRACK

OFF TRACK magazine

This is a co-operated project in which 4 graphic designers created a magazine called ‘OFF TRACK’ where the first issue focuses on the object spectacles. The concept is that each issue takes you ‘off track’ on a journey through one object, emphasising the relationship between people and objects. The main aesthetic of this magazine project contains art directed photography and light-hearted interviews. The team also produced a Kickstarter video, poster, and GIF which was exhibited at Soup Kitchen, Manchester.

The Team:
Art Director & Photographer I - Cindy Khin
Art Director & Photographer II - Janna Choudhury
Layout & Typography Designer - Dahee (May) Kim
Editors - Janna Choudhury & Alyssa Hufana
Poster & GIF Designer - Dahee (May) Kim

At this project, I mainly worked at logo, typography, a photography assist and interview segments. Beside a look of the magazine cover, the spread, which I have managed at producing, composing and taking a shot, is openly placed.
In the process of promoting our new magazine, some post-it printing ideas has come to appeal fundraisers and start-up. They were printed on post-its and spread at the stage of presenting our fresh magazine to jurors before it is release to audience. The GIF is presenting our slogan 'How OFFTRACK Can You Be?' with our art directed photos.
Here are our some beautiful pages we have accomplished together!
They are including art directed photography series, interview segments and colourful pages as you might enjoy!
'OFF TRACK' is made of gorgeous glossy lemonade paper which would hype up our art directed photographys with delightful weight.
The one and only spread that I composed the art directing and managed at shooting.
Interview segments that I worked at. Interviewee's name is placed on their portrait picture within a typographic style. Their 'spectacles' are framed by the art directed style. It is also directed by Cindy Khin who is also a photographer and art director.
In an actual look, the strong colour pops up and art directing pages are glowing.
A poster was hung up at the magazine showcase which is called Soup Kitchen, Manchester. Our slogan and the main shot of first issue are coming together on the poster. It was such a precious opportunity at creating one magazine with great graphic designers. Collaborating and working together are not always easy, but it brings unexpected outcome! Breaking through to the area that I had never been to takes me to a new world that I can expand my ability and vision. The journey was amazing!
