2020/ An exploration in the Waste Fuelled economy. This leather-like material has been developed from banana fibres and sheep wool, both of which are by-products of the agricultural industry. The project begins with Market Study, followed by Identification of Waste Streams, experiments over 8 months and the development of a solid material widely accepted in global industries. The challenge was to reinforce performance and biodegradability in the material, making sure it remains commercially viable. The material is patent protected.
A few pages of the research publication have been shared below, along with an extended video on the making of the material 'Musa'.
