Personal Business Card

When creating anything for oneself, be it a logo, a website or, as in this case, a business card, it is crucial to know what one wants to project, while showcasing one's own personality. All this can be expressed through colours, layout, fonts, content etc.

So, the first step in making this business card, was to figure out where I am in my design journey, what my personality is and what design factors represent that.
For the background colour on the backside, i chose blue, everyone's favourite colour, in a dark hue to convey seriousness, as I would like possible clients to have a safe feeling when considering me.
In contrast stands the bold, energetic orange-red to convey creativity and energy, which nonetheless is confined by the borders of the simplistic logo. I also feel connected the closest to this colour, as any shades of red have always been my favourite colours.
On the front, I opted for a very light pink background colour to balance out the bold fonts and colour choices with a soft and feminine touch, but also because I found plain white looked too harsh.

The font of my name, to me, has similar attributes; it is bold, yet elegant and a little playful.

As for the overall layout, I had some troubles fitting all my contact information on the front, as I wanted to write my information in both, English and Japanese. In the end I decided to leave out my phone number, as I prefer e-mail in most cases anyway, and to narrow my social media handles down to just Instagram, as it shows the most diverse content.

The decision to write the Japanese information vertically onto the right, was on one side to give an optical separation, and on the other side to make all the information less concentrated on one side, and to create a nice balance.
