About

Geekandjob is a tool designed to enhance all professional figures operating in the technology sector.
In March 2020 they redesigned their dashboard and I was asked to design their website in order to communicate their new approach.

Process

Heuristic evaluation

The process started with an analysis of the previous website in order to detect issues. I chose to use Nielsen's heuristics and classified all the issues basing on a severity scale

Data analysis

I got access to the website analytics and through data I was able to validate or discard my hypotesis as well as get new insights given by the users' behaviour

Wireframes

Then I went deep into wireframes in order to define content hierarchy and to ensure that the website had a coherent navigation. I validated the wireframes through user testing.

Concept

When I started to work on the UI, having in mind my user personas, I decided to base the website look and feel on code editors. I choose a monospaced typeface for headlines and, due to the absence of images, I used code elements - such as parenthesis - as visuals with gradients applied. Furthermore I decided to change the website theme form dark to light based on the device settings o by pressing a button in order to add a playful but unobtrusive touch
