Upcycling is the reuse of discarted objects or materials in such a way to create a product of higher quality or value than the original. Besides the environment benefit (for reusing things that would otherwise go to the trash), upcycling can be used both for creating unique art pieces and for manufacturing, depending on the raw materials used.
Mob+Up is a furniture contest for architecture and design students, for them to think of new ways of making furniture with wood, glass, metal and marble factory residues.
The project consisted in the visual identity for the contest's 2nd edition (2019), using the existing logo.
The visual style chosen was collage, for its similarities with upcycling, reusing pieces and shapes of different origins, materials, colors and textures to create a tactile and visual storytelling.
For its target persona is the creative industry college student, I used vibrant and contrasting colors and playful compositions.
