Snälltåget



A graduation project carried out completely remotely during the Corona pandemic 2020. Where we wanted to help Snälltåget strengthen their position and lift their sustainable services and products by creating a unified, clearer and stronger communication for the brand. As the food is almost half of the trip on board, we have chosen to focus extra on their restaurant Krogen and their breakfast kit. 

Snälltåget current logo feels both unclear and outdated. It does not reflect the secure strong logo many other travel companies have. That is why we have chosen to redo their logo. The new logo feels more modern and easier to recognize. We have chosen to make the logo more linear and even so that the company will feel more credible in the transportation industry. With a stripped-down sans-serif font that create a good balance between the illustrations and the logo with a red popping color that can be combined with paper or white tones for a clearer combination.



For the packaging we wanted to make a practical and effective solution to bring the breakfast kit to the seat or out on an adventure. A simple and flexible take-away packaging was then created without the glue that was made more fun and personal. Where you can easily place a sandwich, fruit, juice, coffee or tea. It is also possible to add an extra cup holder if you want an extra hot drink instead and robust enough to be transported on a moving and cramped train. For the breakfast kit we have also produced our own mugs, wrapping paper, napkins, stickers and sugar packages made from environmentally friendly material.



To get a complete restaurant feeling in Krogen we have chosen to redesign the menus and place a smaller one at each table. But also kept the big classic menu wall, so travelers can easily get an insight into their entire range on-board and also made a little campaign to encourage people to bring their own thermos for less disposable products.



As a large part of Snälltåget's target group is on various social media it is important that Snälltåget has an active profile on for example Instagram. Where many travelers take the chance to share their adventures on. Therefore, we have developed an animation that can be used in a fun way for marketing on their Instagram.

A bigger campaign was also developed with two posters that will attract travelers
to discover different destinations that Snälltåget has through messages such as Goodnight Malmö - Guten morgen Berlin and sleep to the mountains. These are meant to
be located in different cities in Sweden.
