23rd Homeguards Logo Design

The previous logo that the 23rd Homeguards had was very rounded off and pale in colour, while the new design have a more sharp and pointy look, making it give a more aggressive appearance, key features was preserved from the old version of their logo as i didnt want the logo to seem completely "different" i wanted it to be relateable to those that already knew and had seen the logo, the previous logo had a clover and a sword along with a shield behind it, i decided to redo the clover in a more straight line fashion as i also decided to do with the sword, just as the shield is leading to sharp corners i figured keeping the same line to pointy end would make it all be uniform and it worked perfectly it doesnt look out the place as it would if it was a curved clover or a curved sword. Along with that i decided to have lines go from the center to the outer parts of the shield making the center part more eye catching the lines helping for the guidance of focus to the center point. The final part was the text a little more of a challenge it had to fit in but also had to put off a stance i felt suited the logo, but i gotta say im very happy with the end decision i choose to take, haveing the point ends in both corners of the texts and then having the white text seem "broken/shattered" as if the badge has been through a battle, since the name is "23rd Homeguards" and this effect also really helps with the complete uniformity of sense of aggressive stance. All in all im super happy with the end result.
