The magazine industry for years had been feeling the impact of digital media's force on consumer purchasing. Sales were slowly declining, and digital newspaper subscriptions were on the rise. The industry was concerned with its future as a viable medium. But our research with consumers showed a different side - that people had a hard time feeling an emotion bond with something that's behind a glass screen, no matter how futuristic the world around them became.

With that knowledge in mind, we launched the largest collaborative effort the magazine industry has ever taken part in. We created faux futuristic covers for more than 50 of North America's top selling publications, helping to communicate the idea that magazines are here to stay. On the inside page of the faux cover was a message that read "No matter how things change, or how complicated the world becomes, magazines will always help us make sense of it all. Read On." A potent series of futuristic print ads were also created showing people still reading magazines despite all the technological advances around them.
