I have drawn a small series of illustrations, dedicated to the concept of language barriers and the beauty of human thought expressed in words. Throughout my time living abroad I’ve been exploring jokes, clumsiness, mistakes, borrowed expressions and other oddities.
Everyone who has tried to learn a foreign language knows that there are always some sayings that cannot be easily translated from one language to another. Also, everyone makes mistakes — some are common and the others are often so unique that they actually express our personality. As my friend once said: “embrace your imperfections.”
